Have you ever rented an apartment or house and found out too late the schools were not what you were seeking in your area? It is an awful experience to say the least.
Most of the time we see photos of the rental property and of course well see only what the property manager wants us to see, which is cool for the property manager, but not for our kids.
First, call the Board of Education at (404) 656-2800. They will ask you the exact address of the rental property, or direct you to someone who can help you. If you have never lived in Georgia before, make sure you ask which county the school is located - everything is pretty much distinguished by a county name in Georgia. Before calling them, make sure you have a list of rental property addresses you are considering so you wont have to call them again. Their address is 2054 Twin Towers East, Atlanta, Georgia 30334.
Once you have made a list of schools, visit http://www.greatschools.net/modperl/go/GA and http://reportcard.gppf.org/DesktopDefault.aspx to view the school report cards. Just as a side note, if the school is Title I it means that certain grade levels have not passed the Georgia State exams for 2 years or more. This is something you may want to take into consideration when looking for schools in Georgia.
Good luck in searching for rental property in Georgia!
